Muscular Dystrophy UK is a leading UK charity focused on muscular dystrophy. They are dedicated to finding treatments and cures and improving the lives of adults and children affected by the condition. As well as providing funding for world class research they also provide practical information, advice and support, campaigning to bring about change and raise


Duchenne Research Breakthrough Fund

Duchenne muscular dystrophy is a neuromuscular condition caused by the lack of a protein called dystrophin. It is a serious condition that causes progressive muscle weakness. About 100 boys with Duchenne muscular dystrophy are born in the United Kingdom each year.

St Polycarp’s Catholic Primary School

We are really grateful to Year 4 at St. Polycarp's who organised a play at school on the above date.  Instead of charging for tickets the school decided to ask for donations for Help4Harry, amazing support from one of our local schools.  They raised a brilliant £149.71 Thank you so much

Help4Harry Hot Chocolate Sale

The Hardcastle & Bloomfield families organised the above event, it was a great afternoon with live music by Dadness.  Thank you so much all involved it raised an impressive £189.00

Kingsclere Rugby Match

We had over 40 players involved, all paying £10 each, the dutch auction made an amazing £250 and supporters gave generously making total on the day £844. They applied for match funding from Vodafone, which will add £700, so total raised for Muscular Dystrophy UK will be £1,544

Help4Harry Retro Disco - William Cobbett Primary School Hall

We held a Retro Disco classic retro dance routines organised by Suzanne O'Callaghan from BDF Academy to get even the most reluctant dancer up on their feet. We had 85 people attend and raised a brilliant £613.20 - thank you so much Suzanne, William Cobbett Primary School and Andy Williams for being a fab DJ for the night and putting up with a room full of women!!!

Cardiff Half Marathon

Mon 14th - Fri 18th September 2015

Four bicycles, 400 miles, 5 days…
Conference Care team did it!!! They cycled 400 gruelling miles from Scotland to Coventry to raise awareness  for Help4Harry and Muscular Dystrophy UK.
The four intrepid volunteers: Directors Chris and Andrew with Pauline Beattie, Jack's Godmother and Sean Henderson will began their quest on Monday 14th September at their Sales Hub in Scotland, and together they battled the elements, climbed mountainous terrain and endured many long hours in the saddle before arriving at their Head Office in Coventry on Friday 18th September.  The champagne corks were popping for their return.  They have raised an incredible £12,345.69 - BIG BIG THANKS

Thames Towpath Challenge

Harry's Auntie Becci took part in The Thames Towpath Challenge in September, Becci managed an incredible 27.5K before an injury meant she could walk no more, I'm pleased to report Becci is on the mend :)

Help4Harry Kilimanjaro Trek

Harry's Godfarther Mike Prosser organised a team to climb Mount Kilimanjaro in July 2015. He partnered with Action Challenge, the leading tour experts for Kilimanjaro. It was a 7 day climb and we are thrilled to report all 8 of the team made it.  This was such an awesome challenge - thank you to all the Help4Harry Killy trekkers you are all FABUOUS. They have raised in excess of £30,000 and still counting

Prudential Ride London-Surrey 100

Ian Jones took part in this awesome event, known as cycling's equivalent to the London Marathon, this unique 100-mile closed road event covers much of the Olympic road race and promises to be the biggest and best cycling sportive in the country. He had 2 punctures along the way but this didn't dampen his spirits - thanks Ian you are a star!!  Ian raised a magical £775.00

After completing the Santa Dash in December 2013 Harry's Auntie Jules decided to run the Chester Half Marathon in aid of Muscular Dystrophy UK on the above date, Jules was joined by her friend Sue who also ran in aid of MD UK/Help4Harry also, together they raised an amazing £900!!! THANK YOU

Due to the success of last year's fundraising evening we decided to do it again and smashed it!!  200 people packed out Farnham Rugby Club, we had a live band, curry in a box and a fabulous auction & raffle.  This year we raised a staggering £12K - Thank you so much for everyones generosity.

The Nappy Lady Help4Harry Nappy Raffle!

The Nappy Lady held a nappy raffle in aid of Help4Harry.  They announced the winners  on the 16th May 2015.  They had some great prizes donated by Danu, Wonderoo, Little Lambs and Bambooty. Arthur, Boxall aged 5 cycled the Camel Trail in Cornwall.   Arthur goes to Folly Hill School and after hearing Harry's story during his shool Orange Mufti Day he felt he wanted to make a difference - thank you so much Arthur - you are amazing,  you have raised an incredible £1,319.00

Friday 23rd January 2015 -

Orange Mufti Day

Our friend Emma Dear came up with the brilliant idea of having a Orange Mufti Day at her son William's school which is Potters Gate, Emma then decided to roll this out to as many schools in Farnham as we can.  We had 11 schools in total, Weybourne Infant School, Greenways Nursery, Elm Tree Pre School, All Saints C of E Infant School, Folly Hill Infant School, Potters Gate C of E Primary School, St Polycarp's Catholic Primary School, St Andrews C of E Infant School, Farnham Heath End School, Hale Primary School.  Farnham Leisure Centre also went orange. The children went to school dressed with something orange and made a £1 donation or more. We are delighted to say they raised an incredible £2,604.00

ShuffleTunes Carol Singing

The fabulous shuffle tunes choir which includes Sharon Swain were out singing carols in fleet in aid of Help4harry and Disability Challenge, they raised a brilliant £227 which will be split equally between the two charities - thank you so much for the support, means so much THANK YOU!!!!! Xx

Help4Harry Hot Chocolate Sale

We have THE best friends, a big thank you to Penny & Ben Hardcastle and Helen & Carl Bloomfield for setting up and making countless cups of hot chocolate, standing outside in the freezing cold for 3 hours - you are great! Also ...thank you to everyone who went along to buy hot chocolate and mince pies. And of course a major thanks to Lawrie & Ettie and Megan for the idea, the money is still coming in but is now nearing £200

Hedgehogs Sponsored Swim

Isaac, Lizzy and Catherine Purkiss took part in the farnham hedgehogs sponsored swim at Farnham leisure centre.  The swim is organised by the Hedgehogs.  All 3 children, including Catherine, who is 6, swam 20 lengths, this was the maximum amount allowed.  They have raised over  £100 between them. We are so grateful as they decided to swim this for Help4Harry. Thanks you so much the Purkiss gang xx

The Great South Run

Following the completion of their first Grim Challenge Gina, Lou and Keith took on the worlds premier 10 mile road race in aid of Help 4 Harry.  Keith raised over £440.00 and Gina along with Lou raised over £1300- thank you all again!

Reading 10K Run

The lovely Emma Mann agreed to take on this challenge with Sue Barnley, training took place, our one aim was to run non-stop and we did it!!! Amazing, Emma raised an incredible £717.00 THANK YOU

Isle of Wight 2014

As 30, 40, 50 something year olds a group of our friends have completed their challenge to get fit and cycle together around the Isle of Wight. Most have known Harry since he was born and we are very grateful for their support. THANK YOU! Together the team raised over £3170

Thames Path Challenge

Harry's mad Godmother Emily, along with our friends Isobel and Nadine have took on this epic Tow path challenge. Isobel took on the 50K whilst Emily and Nadine continued on through the night to complete a 100km from Putney Bridge to Henley in 24hrs! Together they have raised over £5,900.

The Nuts Challenge Mud Run

This challenge is approximately 7km long with a country mile to start, and is one of the most challenging military style assault courses out there - with around 100 obstacles!! Raising over £1170 between them, thank you Alice Amy, Jane & Darren.

The Spartan Race

Spartan Race is the world’s leading obstacle racing series and the first of its kind to have global rankings. Having completed the Grim Challenge last year Keith took on the Spartan Race along with our family friend Mark House. Keith even talked me into this one!! Thank you! Over 180 people joined us at Farnham Rugby club for our 1st Charity Auction night. With the auction, raffle and additional donations from those who couldn't make it on the night, the evening raised just over £10,000 for the Muscular Dystrophy Campaign. Thank you!!!

It's really hard to find the words to say how grateful we are to our 3 wonderful friends Penny, Claire and Ben who between them have raised over £7,460 by running those 26 miles. Overwhelming....pround..... very thankful are just a few. Thank you all so much!!!
